Barwon Heads Cricket Club

Michael is an active member of the Barwon Heads Cricket Club and still spends his summer Saturdays opening the batting for their C-Grade team.

After obtaining a grant from the State Government, the club engaged Freehand Projects to develop a design for a new shaded spectator viewing area adjacent to their clubrooms at the Village Park.

The project consists of a pergola of raw cypress posts and galvanised steel trellis, with new bench seating from in-situ concrete and hardwood slats. Conscious of budget and always interested in using ready-made products in unusual applications, we opted to use pre-cast concrete storm-water pipe-collars as oversized planters for the deciduous vines, which are quickly emerging to provide some welcome shade in the summer months.
